Zia International Airport (ZIA) will remain under 'orange' security alert, one notch down the top, for four days from Friday when leaders of the South Asian countries participating in the 13th Saarc Summit will be flying in and out of the city.>> Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan yesterday said the much-awaited 13th Saarc Summit in Dhaka will deliberate on how to inject impetus to poverty alleviation, promoting cooperation in hard core economic areas and combating terrorism.>>Dhaka feels that the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation should have a ?development goal? and its forthcoming 13th summit is an appropriate forum to come up with a blueprint of cooperation to face the new challenges in the globalised world.>> The government on Tuesday decided to conduct an internal investigation into the alleged irregularities in the tender process in three projects after the World Bank announced withdrawal of funds amounting to Tk 6.8 crore from the projects, said sources in the ministries concerned.>> The Awami League and its front organisations have planned not to go for any agitation programme in the capital and elsewhere during the two-day SAARC summit scheduled to be held on November 12-13.>> The Awami League president, Sheikh Hasina, Tuesday demanded waiving of all agricultural loans in the monga-hit areas in the northern districts.
