Shakib still eyes lead
Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan is still expecting to take a first innings lead against India despite losing three wickets.
The home side scored 59-3 in reply to India's first innings total of 243 all out before bad light stopped play on the second day at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Monday.
"If anyone can make a century then others will put some runs on the board. Still we have good batsmen who are capable of making big individual scores. We need only one century. So, I think it is very possible and hopefully we will be able to apply ourselves."
For the first time Bangladesh restricted India to below 250 runs in a Test. Previously, India lost all 10 wickets on 429 during Bangladesh's debut Test in 2000 and on 526 and 540 in 2004.
Bangladesh coach Jamie Siddons was very happy with his bowlers' performance.
"I am very happy with the boys. Over the last two days they really bowled and fielded well. But the loss of three wickets has obviously put a damper on our fantastic bowling performance.
"It is shaping up to be a very good contest. We still have a lot of batting to come and I'm hopeful we will make a very good score and put them under pressure. I hope the batsmen apply themselves."
